Our passion for sharks and rays is matched by over 16 years experience, including the setting up and design of many aspects of the National Marine Aquarium in the UK and working alongside shark and aquatic based charites both in the UK and internationally.
We have produced life size sharks for Paris Aquarium, Save our Seas Geneva, Maldivian Manta Trust, the University of Western Australia and many of the UK Aquaria. We have also produced life size aquatic models for private homes, for marketing purposes (including the International Dive shows) and book tours.
We oftern produce smaller table top sharks and rays for art exhibitions and international functions promoting shark conservation. Our 75cm bronze patenated hammerhead “Shadow” was a finalist in the David Shepherd International Wildlife Artist of the Year 2009, and was exhibited in the Mall Galleries London.
The making of the sharks is all done by hand, and have have 2 main moulds of the Blue, sculpted by Scott himself as well as a 7ft Mako also sculpted by Scott. We have produced from scratch several other species such as an 8ft Hammerhead and a 15ft wingspan Manta Ray. We have recently produce a part fibreglass and latex protoype hammerhead shark with attached cameras for a research programme in Australia.
We use marine grade fibreglass construction and automotive painting techniques - finishes can vary as we have developed a new latex shark skin effect which is great for touching and giving the dentical effect. We have also held exhibitions where the sharks have been finished in a high art effect such as electric high gloss blue with 24ct gold eyes and semi translucent kelp (which we also produce).
Our educational models are produced in food safe plastics and rubbers. These include a 52cm Tiger shark jaw in plastic or bronze, a complete life size set of the UK Rays & Skates in a semi translucent and semi rigid plastic, as used by the Scottish Sea Bird Centre. We have high detailed replicas taken from originals of megladon teeth and great white teeth and are adding to the range all the time.
